Venkaiah Naidu launches Smart Cities handbook developed by How India Lives

Date: May 19, 2016

Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu launched Smart Cities handbook developed by How India Lives at an investors meet organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The handbook brings together public data on 40 metrics that matter in smart cities context for each of the 97 cities. The smart cities plan is expected to attract an investment of $15 billion over the next five years, but there is a perceptible gap in the availability of ample, relevant, and comparable data to evaluate cities and to identify service gaps and opportunities.

The handbook developed by How India Lives seeks to fill the gap by equipping stakeholders – governments, companies, consultancies, municipalities, financiers, researchers – with public data.

The book can be ordered online in the CII website. Click here
