Total Funds Available

Under MGNREGS, states receive funds from the Union Government based on the estimation of work demanded in the state. State governments then add their own share and distribute the aggregate amount to districts based on estimation of work demanded. This combined amount is referred to as 'funds received' during the financial year. Sometimes, there are unspent funds from the previous financial year known as 'opening balance'. The sum of the 'funds received' during the current financial year and 'opening balance' is known as 'funds available'. This visualisation shows the amount of funds available, state-wise and district-wise, as well as the trend for the five financial years (2018-19 to 2022-23).
