The Excel sessions in Data Accelerator program helped me a lot. I made use of Excel to work out calculations and comparisons for the story
Shagun - Senior Reporter, Down To Earth
I had a session on Google Pinpoint in the Data Journalism Accelerator program.Google Pinpoint allowed me to efficiently extract data from the PDF version of All India Survey on Higher Education. And I used web scraping to extract the data on National Insitutional Ranking Framework.
Sree Dev - Data journalist,
I haven't ever written an article that explores the 'science' of a disaster. The fellowship and the learnings during various sessions encouraged me to look at disasters from the perspective of their science.
Kavitha - Independent journalist & researcher
Although the data collection was prior to the program, we were introduced to the visualization tool during the program. Another element learned in the program was how to write around the data.
